Sport has the power to change the world - Bebe Vio
Bebe Vio
Milano Cortina 2026 is proud to have Beatrice Vio as an Ambassador.
A Paralympic champion, a role model of strength and positivity, and Jovanotti's "magic girl," she is direct and proud. She began fencing in 2002 at the young age of five.
In 2008, she was struck by fulminant meningitis and had all four limbs amputated; two years later, she discovered wheelchair fencing. From there, it was one success after another: world champion under 17 in 2011, first participation in world cups in 2012, first golds in the World Cup in 2013, European champion in 2014, and world champion in 2015.
She won two individual foil golds at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, a team foil silver (Tokyo 2020), and a team foil bronze (Rio 2016). She was the flag bearer at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Her three "S's" are Fencing, scouts, and school. Her motto: "If it seems impossible, then it can be done.
