Deborah Compagnoni

Milano Cortina 2026 is proud to have Deborah Compagnoni as an Ambassador.

She is the most successful Italian skier of all time and the first athlete to win a gold medal in three different editions of the Winter Olympic Games in the history of alpine skiing. Her trophy case includes three world championships, three Olympic golds, and one silver, along with 44 World Cup podiums (including 16 victories).

Today, she serves as an Ambassador and Consultant for the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 with the goal of promoting environmental sustainability, which is very important to her. A ski slope in her hometown, Santa Caterina Valfurva in Valtellina, and a section of the Jesolo promenade have been named after her.

She has always led an active lifestyle with a healthy diet, favoring local zero-kilometer products and fighting food waste. She is active in social causes with her non-profit organization “Sciare per la Vita” (Skiing for Life) and as a UNICEF Ambassador.

Deborah Compagnoni wins the silver medal, Hilde Gerg of Germany wins the gold medal and Zali Steggall of Australia wins the bronze medal in the womens slalom at Shiga Kogen during the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.
